Yesterday was my day to pig out. I ate everything I could get my hands on, including ice cream, pizza and about half a tub of Kozy Shack tapioca pudding. If I'd had any Cool Ranch Doritos, they'd be history.
Today I'm eating regular stuff. Raisin Bran Crunch, peanut butter and jelly, a green salad and some pasta tonight. Maybe a granola bar. And some Fig Newtons, and possibly an ice cream sandwich. But that's all. Really, I just don't want to overdo it, knowing that I have just one day to clear it all out of my system.
Tomorrow I'm on an all-liquid diet for the day. I might have to go to the store and pick up some popsicles, since they're allowed. At least they give the illusion of solid food. I can have coffee, tea, apple juice, clear broth, jello, and any soda I can see through. I'm going to assume that Diet Mountain Dew slips under the radar, even though it's a little on the murky side.
Then Tuesday, after my doctor appointment, I plan to stop at the bakery and pick up some donuts. I think I will have earned that right. |
It's funny (ha ha) that I mentioned yesterday some reports I should be working on for the Boss, and this morning at about 7:30 I heard the fax machine delivering something. I knew it was from him, but I didn't get up until I heard the cow some time later. (Remind me about the cow.)
It was a message, asking me to give him those very same reports. "When you can," he said, and I suppose I could have done it today if I'd given up everything else I wanted to spend my Sunday doing. It would have taken the whole day, but I could have done it.
I did spend some time on the reports, enough to make me feel that I'm not shirking my duties. I don't mind working on the weekends, because it gives me a chance to slack off during the week and say, "But I worked this weekend!" It's all about rationalizing, a wonderful talent if it's not abused. |
Ummmmm...... the cow. The cow has apparently found its way back to its own side of the fence. I saw it yesterday afternoon, munching on the golden grass in the field just beyond my yard. It's almost all black, with one white flank and rear leg. At the time I saw it, it didn't seem to mind that its sister cows were all still confined to the other side of the far fence.
I don't know if it spent the night out, but this morning at about 8:30 I heard a "mooooo" that was much too close. I got up and this same cow was still in the wrong field. As I watched, it loped along the fence it should have been on the other side of. I watched until it was out of sight, at the far end of the field. Maybe that's where the opening is, the one it got through. I haven't seen it again the rest of the day. |
The newest addition to my garden landscaping. |
I'd already set up a couple of flower pot trays as makeshift birdbaths when I got a message from Bonnie suggesting that very same thing. But I'd put them on the ground and she said they should be off the ground, so for now, this one's on an upturned pot in the garden. |
