Testing. Testing. Is this thing on? Anybody out there? I’m a little rusty, but I think I remember how it works. Since I told Holidailies I’d update for the next 31 days, I guess I’d better follow through. I could try to fill in what’s happened over the last month, or I could just start from scratch. Here’s a thought. Let’s try to do a little of both.

The biggest change in my daily routine over the past month is due to the fact that the Boss now has a computer. (That’s not the reason I haven’t been updating, by the way. I don’t expect this new reality to change what I write about here. Much.) His daughter set it up for him and then turned him loose, and I’ve been trying to help him get comfortable using it. His patience is on the short side, so mine has to be a little longer.

It’s working out, but not to the extent that it’s a very useful addition to the work dynamic. Not yet, anyway. But he’s getting better at Solitaire, if that’s any indication of what’s to come. He says it’s helping him get smoother using the mouse, but I know how addictive something so simple can be. When I get him addicted to checking and answering his own email, I’ll feel I have accomplished something.

Meanwhile, as you know, we are expecting a new addition to the family in just about a month, when Kat and Eric’s baby boy will be born. During my recent journal hiatus, a festival was held to reveal his name, which is Alexander. Good times were had by all, and there are pictures of the baby shower on Flickr. (These are actually the same photos I posted on Facebook, but on Flickr they’re also captioned.) Needless to say, this is going to be the Best Christmas Ever. Again.
