Nothing much is happening, but I might as well write an entry, because it looks like I’ll be waiting all day for the time cards, and then working all night to get the payroll ready to mail out tomorrow. When Tim told me he’d “forgotten” the time cards at home and would fax them to me tonight, I let him know that I wasn’t pleased. Then he asked me for a favor and I did it. That makes me either a patsy or a sap, or maybe a combination of both. But what else did I have to do? I don’t have the time cards.
Then the Boss called and asked me to look up some legal mumbo jumbo on line. He wants to appeal a contract decision by the federal government, and he doesn’t know the procedure. So I looked up the law, and it seemed the appeal has to be made to the same person who made the decision against him in the first place. If that doesn’t solve the problem, the two parties can, by mutual consent, seek arbitration — “mutual consent” indicating that the person who said no in the first place has a veto over the resolution. The Boss was not happy, and I think he’s given up, at least for now. |
