Even though it’s still a week and a half before I turn 60, every day brings new reminders that, for example, it’s been thirty years since I was 30. Or nearly. And even a new, healthy lifestyle has its drawbacks. Along with the plant-based diet I’m starting come new exercises. I could just keep doing the old exercises, but the problem with that is that I never do them. So new ones at least have the advantage of novelty, which should keep me interested for awhile, anyway.
My new exercise program took a setback today when I woke up with aches and pains, including a particularly sore right hip. It’s not in the joint this time, as it has been so often in the past. It’s definitely a muscle pain. That means it will go away, but it also means that I wasn’t going to do anything today to aggravate it. Like exercise.
So I spent most of my Sunday sitting. (Not that there’s anything wrong with that.) The thought occurred to me that walking off the pain might work, but every time I got up and walked, the pain came back. While I was sitting, it was gone. So I sat. |
